Rental conditions

The following hire conditions form an integral part of the hire agreement you will have to sign before the rental.

WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM THE CYCLE HIRE SERVICE

The Customer (hirer) agrees and acknowledges that the use of the bicycle is reserved to persons 18 years old (or more), except the minors are accompanied by an adult who assumes the full responsibility of possible damages caused or experienced by the minor.

SERVICE REQUEST

In the case of request from more persons, the hire contract can be filled and signed by one of them, who will be the only responsible person towards ALMA APS.

DEPOSIT AND CUSTODY OF THE EQUIPMENT

The renter’s credit card is only required as a guarantee and ALMA APS may henceforth be authorized to debit the repair costs for any damage occurring to the equipment during the rental period unless it is demonstrated that the damage was due to a defect specific to the equipment and in this case, the renter shall be entitled to the reimbursement of the rental charges by ALMA APS.

The renter will be held responsible for damages to or loss of the equipment or parts of it, for the amount determined by the rental company according to standard market prices.

Shall a credit card be not available, ALMA will ask for a money deposit in proportion to the value of the rented items or for the deposit of an original id card or passport (no driving license). ALMA can also decide to deny the rental in case of missing warranties.

BOOKING CONFIRMATION

We strongly recommend booking in advance the rental, so that we can guarantee the best possible service and the real availability of the requested equipment. General information requests concerning the availability of the equipment will be not considered as bookings. Without a booking, ALMA APS will be free to keep the equipment available for other customers.

A down payment representing 50% of the overall rental price is required to confirm the booking. The remaining balance of 50% must be paid before the start of the rental period.

CANCELLATION PENALTIES

Cancellations must be sent via e-mail. In the following the modality of the refund:

– 30 days or more to the start of the rental: 100% refund minus € 20 as a cancellation fee;

– from 29 to 8 days to the start of rental: 50% refund minus € 20 as a cancellation fee;

– within 7 days to the start of the rental: no refund, except particular agreement between the Renter and ALMA APS (if possible, by changing the rental period).

No refund will be paid after the start of the rental.

The refund will be done within 10 days after receiving the cancellation.

In the event of a rental cancellation by ALMA APS, 100% of the price paid will be refunded. Reimbursement shall exclusively refer to the rental price and exclude any other costs that customers may incur.

ALMA APS will do all in its power to deliver and collect the bicycle/s at the agreed address but accidental reasons of force major or exceptional circumstances (heavy weekend traffic, road accidents) may cause occasional delays. However, customers will be immediately informed if and when such events happen. The drivers carrying out deliveries are not mechanics and cannot be asked to change a bicycle’s setting. This is a paid service that can only be provided upon request.

In the event that ALMA APS is unable to make the delivery/collection because a customer fails to show up at the appointed time (“NO SHOW”), all additional costs incurred in respect of the staff and vehicle will be charged to the customer’s credit card.

RETURN

In event of delay or change of agreed place for returning rented equipment, the rental company must be notified AS SOON AS POSSIBLE by calling the phone number +393293157647.

Renter returns the bicycle to the designated return area more than 15 minutes after the scheduled “Time Back,” will be charged with the cost of an extra day.

COLLECTION SERVICE IN CASE OF TROUBLE

In event of a mechanical failure other than punctures, ALMA APS will offer a collection service but reserves the right to charge a fee.
